Mediation is a process to resolve conflicts without going to a trial or arbitration. Mediation is a confidential process where you and your opponent sit down with a trained professional to discuss the conflict and try to reach a mutually agreeable solution. Mediation is a great way to save the cost of a trial, but everyone must agree on the solution. If the parties in conflict are too far apart in how they view the situation, sometimes mediation won't work. However, it is always a good tool to see how a neutral party (i.e. the mediator) will view the facts and your arguments, so even if you don't think the conflict can be resolved, it can still be a beneficial process to go through.
